The differential transfers engine power to the wheels and adjusts to the difference in the wheel speed. The differential allows the wheels to turn at different speeds while maintaining control of the vehicle. The differential can experience heavy wear and tear. Noise coming from the differential can be a signal that your differential fluid may need serviced, or it can be a sign of worn gears and/or bearing due to regular wear and tear.
